It’s been just over four months since the FCC’s CableCARD mandate went into effect, and, as the NCTA reported late last month, the number of set-tops with CableCARDs in consumer homes has already more than doubled the total number of CableCARDs requested by consumers in the three-year period before July 1, 2007. Given such a massive market transition, I’ve been wondering about some of the details behind putting so many CableCARD set-tops in the field.
