Interpublic Group has a new report out with growth projections for both DVR and VOD services. The Interpublic study suggests that DVRs will go from being in 24% of homes today to 36% of homes by 2012. VOD capabilities, according to the report, will go from being in 35% of homes today to 54% of homes by 2012.
Here’s what I want to know. What kind of growth is projected between now and next February 17th? When analog TVs go dark (sans converter boxes), will operators get a windfall of new business? Will we see a sudden spike in new DVR and VOD users?
