We’re getting close to the end of the year, which means I’m once again talking to as many Motorola execs as I can for reflections on the last twelve months and predictions on technology in the new year. But when I interviewed CTO Ray Sokola last week (more to come later on that conversation), I was surprised to find that his take on Motorola history goes much farther back than just 2008. In fact he’s got a veritable museum of Motorola gadgets in his office. Check out the old radios in the photo above. In the gallery below are an old Motorola TV, a “portable” radio designed to be carried on your hip, and a suitcase radio. That’s a tuner on the handle and all the radio guts inside the case. World’s first walkman?

Thanks for sharing the post about Ray’s collection. He has a great perspective on Motorola heritage and has in fact made history himself with patents and innovations.
