Motorola SBV6120 EMTA docsis 3

After the flurry of DOCSIS 3.0 announcements last year, most folks stopped paying attention to the regular CableLabs certification waves. Not so, Jeff Baumgartner. Jeff has a post up today on the latest wave, CW68, detailing the three Motorola products that received certification. All three were certified at the DOCSIS 2.0 level, but one, the Motorola SBV6120, was also certified for DOCSIS 3.0. The SBV6120 is an Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (EMTA, or digital voice modem) that’s very similar to the already-certified SBV6220. In fact, it only lacks the Lithium-ion battery backup of its older sibling. According to the Motorola product team, the SBV6120 is already deployed in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).

CW68 also included the Motorola SBV5122, which received certification for PacketCable 1.5 and DOCSIS 2.0, and the Motorola SBG941, which received certification for DOCSIS 2.0.
