New Multi-Encoding Platform with 1080p 60 Support

The Motorola SE-6000 launches today at IBC in the Netherlands. It’s the multi-encoder platform that first appeared back at NAB, and among other resolutions, it supports 1080p 60 for MPEG-4-compressed video running at 60 frames per second. Some day, 1080p 60 could be used for delivering different images to each eye at 30 frames per second; images that together could project a 3D picture.

The new encoding platform supports MPEG-2, MPEG-4, SD, and HD video. It also support both baseband and pre-compressed video, working for satellite, cable, and IPTV applications.
