While the US is tuned in to CTIA this week, there’s another industry conference going on half way around the world. The China Content Broadcasting Network Expo (CCBN 2010) is underway in Beijing with a focus on broadband, TV delivery, and, of course, convergence.
Motorola is covering everything from access technologies, to VOD, to cable and IPTV set-tops at CCBN this year, thanks to continued momentum for the business in the Asia-Pacific region. Motorola’s CMTS business secured two wins there recently; one with Beijing Gehua, and one with Guangdong Cable. Meanwhile, Motorola is using CCBN as an opportunity to introduce the RX48 upstream solution to the Chinese market. And work continues with set-top shipments as well as widespread VOD deployments throughout the region in sites from Jiangsu and Mongolia to Beijing.
Globally speaking, Motorola is also highlighting technology leadership stats at CCBN, some of which were a surprise even to me.
Did you know Motorola is:
- #1 in digital ser-tops, over 100M
- #1 in IPTV set-tops, over 10M
- #1 in cable modems, over 67M
- #1 in digital networks, with over 2,500 headends delivering TV content to over 125M homes
